Water quality troubleshooting
Water & EnvironmentZenith Global was approached by a beverage manufacturer that had reported issues of a sporadic taint in their bottled water product. Previous investigations were inconclusive but suggested a microbial issue.
The project began with a desk-based review of information about the nature of the taint, the site environmental setting, the source construction, the hydrogeology and water chemistry data. This was followed by a site visit where we assessed the distribution pipework and bottling processes to identify the source of the problem. Zenith Global’s deep experience in assessing bottling facilities and distribution pipework for taints meant we were ideally placed to quickly identify areas of concern and make recommendations for improvement actions.
The project identified several areas of concern, including the environmental setting, the borehole construction and the bottling process. Zenith Global’s in-depth knowledge of hydrogeology and source capture construction meant we were able to recommend an immediate course of action to improve the situation. We provided recommendations for improvements and further investigations into parts of the bottling process where contamination risks were identified.
