Source vulnerability assessment

Zenith Global was commissioned by a large soft drinks bottler in Nigeria to carry out a vulnerability assessment of water supplying one of its plants. This was an objective high-level audit of the facility’s source water supply to identify risks so that these may be effectively mitigated and managed.

Zenith Global water resource experts carried out an initial desk-based assessment and literature review of the geology and hydrogeology beneath the site. The next phase was a visit to the facility to identify potential source water vulnerabilities within and around the site. We assessed the source water supply borehole headworks and source protection zone. We also evaluated the effectiveness of the facility’s water treatment system to treat any known or potential source water quality threats.

Zenith Global’s experience in assessing sources and their vulnerabilities makes us ideally placed to report findings to support our client by highlighting the main potential source water vulnerabilities and risks identified during the assessment. We have the knowledge to recommend short-term and long-term action plans to mitigate identified risks. Working with our client we are able to guide them through these action plans to enable them to effectively manage risk.
