Groundwater protection and risk management

Zenith Global was commissioned to carry out a health check on water supplies from source through to factory productions at four food production sites in the UK. The aim of the study was to identify any risks to the supply and to suggest areas for improvement, particularly in the area of water recycling.

A site visit was carried out to assess the source of supply, the water flow through the production process, and any water treatment equipment in place. We also collected water chemistry and microbiology data where available and interviewed plant operators.

We successfully delivered a technical health check report for each site, detailing the water stream from source through to point of use and waste discharge and any risks associated with the distribution and treatment system. Zenith Global’s in-depth knowledge of this type of operation meant we were ideally placed to identify significant risk where operations have subsequently changed and also key areas for improvement. We successfully worked with the client to aid the implementation of suggested improvements to data collection, water treatment and source protection.
