- The average bottle travels 250 kilometres from source to shelf.
- This compares with over 2,400 kilometres for fresh fruit and vegetables as well as most consumer packaged goods.
- 70% of Canada’s plastic bottles were recycled in 2011.
- Recycling preserves 86% of the energy content for re-use.
More than 95% of Canada’s bottled water comes from springs on private property, not municipal water.
