Healthier can be far cheaper
I’ve never believed good nutrition need be more expensive than less healthy food choices. Now there is further evidence that the much repeated myth to the contrary is false.
A new report from the US Center for Science in the Public Interest has found that fruit and vegetables are generally far cheaper than processed snacks and convenience foods.
In fact, not only are fruit and vegetables much lower in calories, the average price of fruit and vegetable snacks at $0.34 per serving is half the price of processed snacks at $0.67 per serving.
