Rapid growth of US snacking
Continuing with my US theme, I note that other new research from the NPD Group reports that Americans are eating 22 more morning snacks than ten years ago.
Apparently 53% of Americans now snack two or three times a day. Breakfast accounts for 28% of all eating occasions, dinner 27%, lunch 25% and snacks 20%.
No surprises so far, but there was one conclusion that gave me extra food for thought – “Those with the healthiest overall diets were most likely to snack frequently”. I wonder.
