Square fruit
Over 20 years ago, I wrote an article making predictions about soft drinks in 50 years’ time.
One of my musings was about the development of more logistically shaped fruit, in cubes rather than spheres.
Well, someone has actually achieved this – with a variety of fruits in Brazil. In fact, the idea has gone a step further than I dared anticipate.
Producer Camp Nectar has created reverse embossed plastic casings to put round early buds and the fruit then grows into that shape. The fruits are not only rectangular, but also ready branded.
The experiment is admirably captured on a YouTube video.
