US plant-based market spreads
In the United States, the Plant-Based Foods Association and the Good Food Institute report 11.4% growth in US retail sales of all plant-based foods to $5.0 billion in 2019, fuelled by:
• innovation
• expanding shelf space.
The top segments are milk and meat alternatives, but the fastest growth rates have come from smaller niches such as eggs, spreads, creamer and yogurt.
