After LIVE8 and G8, now HYDR8
With UK bottled water consumption more than 20 times higher than 20 years ago, its industry leaders will be following in the footsteps of the G8 leaders by holding their 2005 conference at Gleneagles in Scotland this November.
At the foot of the Scottish Highlands, Gleneagles happens to be a close neighbour of the leading UK natural mineral water producer Highland Spring. The programme begins on 15th November with a tour of the Highland Spring plant and the conference on 16th November will be opened by Highland Spring Chief Executive Joe Beeston, who was awarded an OBE in the recent Queen's Birthday Honours.
Ensuring a "sustainable future" will be the general conference theme, with sessions covering market trends, distribution dynamics, product innovation and industry best practice. Among the other speakers will be leading companies such as Strathmore and Dairy Crest as well as innovators in flavour, functionality and packaging including h2eau plus, Slazenger activ8 and Icelandic Glacial.
Other features of the event are a briefing on flavoured and functional waters, an industry dinner and a visit to the local Tullibardine distillery.
The conference is being sponsored by Sidel, which has installed over 300 glass and PET bottling lines around the world, and organised by leading industry consultants Zenith International.
