UK soft drinks leaders confer about role in society
The role of soft drinks in society will be the theme of the next annual UK soft drinks industry conference being held on Thursday 6th May 2004 at the New Connaught Rooms in central London.
"With continued market growth, the profile of soft drinks is becoming more important in the context of our diet and health," commented Richard Hall, Chairman of specialist consultancy Zenith International, which is organising the event. "The industry already offers immense consumer choice and benefits, but companies know they will only remain competitive if they keep in tune with changing lifestyles and social pressures."
The conference programme features many of the sector's leading players and will be opened by Charlotte Oades, President of Coca-Cola Great Britain. Other speakers include:
Directors of PepsiCo and Britvic on consumer trends and future growth opportunities.
Challengers Pete & Johnny, Qibla-Cola and Firefly on innovation and new directions.
Buyers from Asda and Sainsbury on retailer priorities.
Experts from the Medical Research Council and British Retail Consortium on diet and health.
The event will also mark the launch of the 2004 Sucralose Soft Drinks Report, which is now in its tenth year as the industry's main reference on market statistics and developments. The conference is sponsored by Tate & Lyle Sucralose.
