First Geothemal Briefing for building industry
The first Geothermal Briefing for the building industry will take place in central London on 21st November 2007. Organised by leading consultancy Zenith International in association with Loopmaster Europe, the event will present the merits of this new technology and discuss how to install systems effectively.
The UK market for geothermal systems is growing rapidly, because they can significantly reduce building energy demands and thus greenhouse gas emissions. Planning requirements for an increasing number of developments expect a proportion of a building's energy needs to come from renewable sources; geothermal systems are a practical and cost-effective way of achieving this.
The Geothermal Briefing brings together leading experts to discuss technical implementation and best practice as well as providing specific practical sessions on risk management and integration with building design. Speakers include the Renewable Energy Association, the European Geothermal Energy Council, John Noad Building Environment, GRTI, GeoPro and the Environment Agency.
According to Zenith Water & Environment Manager Zeb Etheridge: "Geothermal has a significant role to play in helping developers meet their environmental targets. Regulatory pressure in London has already resulted in a number of new schemes and demand is spreading rapidly to other parts of the country. The briefing is designed to provide the construction industry with the background it needs to master this new technology and the tools to move projects forward".
